Title: E-Commerce Marketing Manager
Location: Carlsbad, CA
 

Pro Performance Sports is seeking an E-commerce Marketing Manager for its SKLZ and Sport-Brella brands. S/he will report to the Sr. Director of Marketing with responsibility for the planning, implementation, and analysis of our on-site and multi-channel e-commerce initiatives and KPIs.

The person will play a critical role in SKLZ’s success by enhancing both the customer shopping experience and direct marketing tactics with the goals of helping consumers make the right buying decisions, increase engagement and ultimately drive higher revenue per customer.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to, site merchandising and catalog management, product promotions, managing 3rd party vendors relationships, development and optimization of targeted acquisition marketing programs such as SEM, SEO, Comparison shopping engines and affiliate / loyalty marketing efforts.

The right candidate will blend creative promotional thinking with strong analytic and user experience skills. S/he will work with PPS Sales, Digital Marketing and inventory management teams to create plans, strategies and tactics that will drive online sales, conversion and customer satisfaction.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:.

  • Oversee day-to-day e-commerce sales efforts by effectively managing the front-end website experience, category strategy, landing pages, product assortment, pricing and overall merchandising mix
  • Manage e-commerce store production schedules and product promotions in partnership with sales, marketing, product, operations and creative teams
  • Plan and execute promotional emails and remarketing initiatives to internal registrants and partner programs
  • Manage SKLZ affiliate and loyalty programs
  • Oversee product set-up -- update and maintain product database as necessary
  • Work with Sr. Director to drive direct marketing programs such as search engine marketing, affiliate relationships, comparison shopping engines, social commerce, mobile and other targeted mediums
  • Maintain optimal site usability by analyzing onsite behavioral analytics and conversion data in order to effectively optimize site promotions, messaging, and other key indicators that enhance ROI
  • Review site traffic, conversion, and average selling price regularly, through merchandising, cart analysis, and cross-sell/up-sell strategies, optimize accordingly
  • Review competitive websites to evaluate site merchandise, promotional tactics, customer experience, and product presentation
  • Establish collaborative relationships with inventory / demand planning teams to ensure availability and the timely delivery of merchandise.
  • Track and evaluate site user behavior; make recommendations to improve user experience/usability and sales conversion.
  • Assist in the development of the overall e-commerce marketing plans
  • Identify opportunities for new marketing tactics, technologies, site-conversion functionality and improved user experiences

 

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field required
  • 4-6 years experience in e-commerce marketing for consumer facing brands or retail websites
  • Proven success in building web ecommerce sites, increasing web traffic and conversion rates
  • Experience establishing and implementing merchandising strategies and tactics on a web site for a multi channel retailer
  • Solid understanding of current and emerging marketing and media technologies and social trends that can drive and support e-commerce marketing efforts
  • Experience managing direct marketing campaigns such as SEM, SEO< comparison shopping, affiliate and loyalty programs
  • Expertise in analyzing eCommerce-related business metrics. (Google analytics, SEO etc) including web-based analytical tools such as: Google, Omniture, Web Trends or similar demand driven solution
  • Ability to analyze site needs, provide constructive input, and proactively plan / incorporate technology innovations into site feature

Title: Junior Designer
Location:  Carlsbad, CA

Job Description:

Member of the in-house creative team and marketing department. The Junior Designer will create effective high-quality retail packaging with a team of graphic designers. The position also encompasses a full range of production and design projects, including sales collateral, product branding and multiple deadline-driven for athletic training tools and programs. Ensuring premium brand positioning, integrity and consistency based on the given creative direction.


Responsibilities:

  • 70% Production/packaging design, 25% retail and sales collateral, 5% marketing design
  • Must posses a strong understanding of retail package-oriented production, design, printing processes, development of packaging components, including box layouts, imagery, typography and logos.
  •  
  • Develop box mock-ups and renderings
  • This position requires heavy production work; copy editing and understanding of high-end post-production photography such as retouching/editing, color correction, clipping and enhancements before photos are published
  • Able to produce high-end post-production photography retouching/editing (clipping, color-correction, manipulation and enhancements)
  • Executes all projects from design direction to completion—taking concepts from initial exploration through development, refinement and delivering final production artwork files and proper file transferring to the factory/print vendors
  • Layout consumer displays based on templates for in-store point-of-purchases (POP), PDQ containers and signage
  • Create graphics for sales collateral, merchandising plan-o-grams (POG) and product presentations
  • Confers with Design Director and Marketing Team regarding project specifications, content and creative direction
  • Ensures that file management, maintenance, artwork structure and photography are kept in good order and organized accordingly to department protocols
  • Implement product branding and aesthetics along with Design Director and Product Development Team to ensure brand presence
  • Design product instruction manual materials, warning labels and descriptive illustrations
  • Assist with trade show graphics, advertising pages, flyers, coupons, marketing promotions
  • May assist Web Team with updating latest photography for the website
  • Minor product, merchandising (plan-o-gram) and in-house photography assistance

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in graphic design or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in production and graphic design
  • Packaging design and post-production photo retouching skills
  • Expert levels of Adobe Creative Suite [CS5]; Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge and Acrobat Pro
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Mac OS platform knowledge

Title: Product Manager - Fitness / Athletic Performance
Location:  Carlsbad, CA


Primary Responsibility:

You will be responsible for the Fitness and Athletic Performance Division (APD) product range throughout the product lifecycle. Working closely with sourcing, sales, marketing and finance, you will ensure that SKLZ financial and customer satisfaction goals are met while making a positive contribution to the SKLZ culture.

 

The APD/Fitness Product Manager is expected to:

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap for their category
  • Be a category expert with regard to the competition and end users
  • Lead product development for the APD/Fitness category
  • Perform product demos to customers, both internal and external
  • Help set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • Be the advocate for the category within the SKLZ Team
  • Be an active contributor to all product development and marketing activities as part of the expanding Product Development Team

 

KEY FUNCTIONS 

New Product Development

  • Recommend new product opportunities through your market knowledge and customer insights.
  • Develop business cases for all new products including pricing and channel strategy, forecasting and R&D investment return.
  • Write design briefs for all new products based on the seasonal needs of each channel.
  • With the Director of Product Management, develop a category development calendar for each season and consistently update the SKLZ team of product status.
  • Work with the design team to ensure SKLZ standards of quality and performance are met.
  • Ensure product moves through the product development process.
  • Evaluate the fitness product submissions received from Inventors.
  • Work with third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.

 

Product Line Management

  • Constantly evaluate existing product line gross/net margins to ensure they are meeting the financial objectives of the company.
  • Attend key trade shows and customer meetings to gain information and feedback about the product and the market. Communicate your findings with the SKLZ team.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the Company’s product and become an expert in understanding the function of each item.
  • Assist with sponsored athletes and facilities as needed to gain insights into elite athletes’ needs and maximize the value of SKLZ sponsorship investment.  
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure the smooth transition of product from ideation through production, sales, support and eventual end-of-life.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Four-Year College Degree Required
  • Proficiency ins MS Office
  • 5+ years Product Management Experience
  • Knowledge of the fitness industry
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching innovative products

 

The APD / Fitness Product Manager must be able to travel to China frequently.


 

Title: Product Marketing Manager
Location: Carlsbad, CA 

Responsible for driving the company’s process of taking product concepts and designs to final production versions, developing packaging and merchandising solutions, and supporting them in the complete sales cycle.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops market research and competitive analyses to help define relative positioning and messaging for products and the brand.
  • Serves as a primary driver in product form and function (including product design and product artwork/graphics) and ensures they meet and reflect key brand values.
  • Oversees development of all product packaging and retail merchandising, signage programs and POP and keeps them consistent with brand standards and relevant marketing campaigns.
  • Develops communications briefs and builds out the foundation for copy across all related product communications.
  • Creates product marketing collateral: catalogs, video-based product overviews, product marketing / sales presentations, product marketing content for web sites, audience-specific value propositions, and other field and channel enablement material.
  • Trains direct sales and channel partners on how to position and sell the products.
  • Supports product line presentation at tradeshows and events.
  • Executes product launches in collaboration with the Marketing Communications team.
  • Manages product marketing timelines to ensure timely production and delivery of products.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA or MBA in marketing or equivalent experience of 8+ years in the field.
  • Proven product marketing development in corporate settings or with agencies.
  • Spotless verbal and written communications.
  • Highly collaborative style with strong management skills for getting the most from their team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position product marketing discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.
  • A relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to “manage by influence.”
  • A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on juggling a variety of key initiatives concurrently.
  • A passion for sports and experience with skill development and athletic performance training.
